President Samia Suluhu said it was not right for people to spread wrong information about the cause of John Magufuli’s death – The state informed that Magufuli had died out of heart complications, a report that some people rubbished – A section of Tanzanians believed their leader was poisoned, a group that Samia now calls out for being insensitive.

Source: Facebook While announcing Magufuli’s death on the night of March 17, Samia said the fallen leader had died out of heart-related complications, a report that some people dismissed. The sneering lot believed Maguguli did not die out of heart complications as officially reported and rather was ‘poisoned.’ Samia has now sent a warning to the peddlers of the hearsay, adding they could be traced to face the wrath of the law.

“Everyone will die, and every death has its own cause. I have been angered by reports online about the death of the late Magufuli. Doctors affirmed that he died of heart disease. I now see others saying he was poisoned, it is not right” Samid said while addressing members of parliament in Dodoma. The president called on the rumour mongers to present themselves before relevant authorities to give more information about the cause of Magufuli’s demise. She said it was not right to disseminate wrong information, especially when the country is yet to heal from the scars of the loss suffered. “They are spreading lies online because they think we will not get hold of them. But let me warn them, we will be tracing them. They should ask themselves if indeed they are doing the right thing. they should repent,” stated Samia. Just after Magufuli’s death was announced last month, theories began revolving around the possible cause of his death, contrary to an official statement issued by the government. Others supposed that the leader was assassinated by unknown forces who wanted him out due to his unwavering stance on such vices as corruption.
