‘Anthrax infection found in Wiltshire cow’

Anthrax is a highly resilient bug that can survive harsh conditions and its spores are fatal to humans if inhaled.

Its spores have been used to create biological weapons by at least five countries including Britain and the US.

 

The first case of anthrax since 2006 has been found in a cow in Wiltshire, Public Health England (PHE) confirmed on Tuesday. Officials said the case was discovered after the death of a cow last week at a farm in Westbury.
