The most important news item concerning world events, prophetic events, is the upcoming US election.
“Of all the head-scratching elements of Trump’s rise in the GOP nominating contest, his success with the religious right may be the most confounding.”
“Whatever Trump is preaching, the faithful seem receptive. On Jan. 18, he received a glowing welcome from Rev. Jerry Falwell, Jr., during a visit to Liberty University in Virginia, the world’s largest Christian college. “In my opinion, Donald Trump lives a life of loving and helping others as Jesus taught in the great commandment,” Falwell said, shortly before Trump mispronounced the name of one of the Bible’s prominent books.” Time Magazine January 21 ‘Why Trump Is Winning Over Christian Conservatives’
Presbyterians in the reform were led by the likes of John Knox. Out spoken strong in his conviction for righteousness and of course God’s word, he didn’t mince words with royalty. I believe Knox if it were possible would have a voice against the political aspirations of Donald Trump who is a Presbyterian. His comments are a reminder of George W Bush in a hard nose military line which proved to be a turning point for the USA in a very dark direction with ramifications for the safety of the US and the world.
“The doctrine that God has committed to the church the right to control the conscience, and to define and punish heresy, is one of the most deeply rooted of papal errors. While the reformers rejected the creed of Rome, they were not entirely free from her spirit of intolerance.”
When there is fear from terrorism and the war in Syria has its focus on Christian and Muslim, fear does not lead us to truth but to subversion. Truth and that to which it belongs, liberty will be under siege though spoken often of. Rome’s ideas has so permeated the US and seen recently by the address of Pope Francis to US congress.
When religion is used in politics we have the start of what was the church of Rome, the daughter of Rome is about to following her mother’s footsteps. It is predicted and the war in the middle east will lead it on.
There is need of a much closer study of the Word of God; especially should Daniel and the Revelation have attention as never before in the history of our work. We may have less to say in some lines, in regard to the Roman power and the papacy, but we should call attention to what the prophets and apostles have written under the inspiration of the Spirit of God. . . . {CTr 335.2} There will be less to say in regard to Romanism as Protestantism makes an image to the the beast, that is Protestant America will assume that which Rome once did as a persecuting power against God’s commandment keeping people.
In the holy trinity of politics, power and faith, “religion is at the bottom,” Balmer says. “It’s about politics, and it’s about power.”
